So proud of this new AIBM program! Such a needed project right now. Love this from David in the video: “I have no interest in telling boys and young men how to be masculine”.

As someone who works part-time in the asset-building space, I wonder what role financial literacy programs -- and genuine asset-building programs rather than gambling -- could help to defang the temptation toward gambling while we wait for state policy to catch up?

I'm also very interested in this question. What if those new Trump accounts started at 12 or 14 years old — with the possibility for young people and their parents to rebalance their portfolio of index funds once or twice per year? Would the experience of seeing money compound slowly over time reduce the temptation of gambling? I guess we'll eventually find out as those accounts mature.

In the meantime, Isaac Rose-Berman, our sports betting policy fellow, is building out some financial & gambling literacy curricula for schools and parents. We'll have more to share next year!

Why wait for any government accounts? Parents and male advocacy organizations can help families start those accounts WITHOUT anyone else's assistance. If we are going to help men, let's inject some energy into dads, moms and others into doing something now instead of waiting for others.

I enjoy your occasional emails and the linked articles. Thank you.

Is sports betting any worse than any form of betting? Gambling can be very addictive and I have seen it ruin lives very quickly. Losing some money in a casino or at the track is just part of the cost of the trip. Betting via your phone because you have 5 spare minutes is something else.

Thanks for reading. We agree that online gambling is fundamentally different: ubiquitous, always accessible, frictionless, and with increasingly targeted notifications in our most vulnerable moments.

The guys mention they’re concerned about the “controversy” of discussing pornography. It’s sexual abuse of the boys consuming it and everybody hates it. So.

If they’re worried about controversy that tells me they are here to whitewash and minimize the impact of porns rise because they don’t have the guts to criticize the industry or its mass distribution to teens. They’re here to make light of it. Bet.

I’m glad no one’s paying attention to this nonsense. We don’t need another group of apologists and minimizers who won’t admit that conservatives are religious people have the right to not be worried sick about porn getting access to their kids.
